Whatever you are Feeling, You are not alone

Are you experiencing stress and/or anxiety right now? You are not alone. I can guarantee none of us were given a handbook on how to deal with living during a pandemic. Whatever you are feeling right now, you are not going through this alone.

No matter who you are, the pandemic has had an impact on everyone in one-way or another. This has been a collective experience. People have lost their jobs, loved ones, a sense of normalcy. We have needed to adjust to a new “normal”, whatever that may look like. Children and teenagers have had to adjust the way they learn, and adults have had to adjust the way they work. We have had to limit ourselves in many ways.

This has been tough and it's okay to admit that it has been a struggle. It may be hard to find some positive within this chaos, but there are. This experience may have brought you close to your family and loved ones, or you may have grown a new appreciation for the little things in life. This time may have been used to reflect on what is important to you.

Ask yourself, “What am I looking forward to when I can go out more?” “What do I want to change about my life?” “What can I take away from this experience?”

These are important questions to ask yourself, because it will help you gain insight from this unprecedented experience. Asking these questions will also help you look for some positives and gain hope for the future. Have conversations with others to see what they have gained from this experience and have discussions about what you want to do in the future.

The pandemic was out of our control, but what we make of it is our choice.

“Life isn’t about waiting for the storm to pass, it's about learning how to dance in the rain.” - Vivian Greene
